If you're a writer, chances are you have heard of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) somewhere in your literary travels. It takes place in November and runs from the first to the thirtieth. The goal of this challenge is simple. Write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Before you panic. NaNo, and all WriMos are about quantity, not quality. Get that first draft out there. Nobody cares if it's shudder-inducing crap. It's words, and sometimes you just need to let the words flow without the inhibiting weight of an internal editor screaming over your shoulder. You can learn more about NaNoWriMo at the official NaNo website. www.nanowrimo.org
